Updating ocStore to version 3.0.3.9 not only provides bug fixes and system improvements, but also increases the stability of your online store. This guide walks you through the step-by-step process of migrating from version 3.0.3.7 so that you can complete it safely and without unnecessary problems.
1. Make a BACKUP of your store’s files and database!!! If your modules allow you to back up settings – do it as well.
2. Upload ALL new ocStore files over your current installation, EXCEPT for the config.php and admin/config.php files.
3. Go to the address:
https://<yourstore.com>/install
replacing <yourstore.com> with the address of your site (with subdirectory if used).
4. You should see the ocStore upgrade script.
If you see the OpenCart installation page, it means you overwrote the config.php files. Restore them from the backup and try again.
5. Click “Upgrade”.
Within a few seconds, you should see a message about a successful update.
If errors appear – report them on the forum before continuing, or contact a specialist.
6. Clear cookies in your browser.
7. Go to the store’s admin panel and press Ctrl+F5 to refresh the browser cache.
This will prevent incorrect display of elements due to style changes. Log in as the main administrator.
8. In admin, go to: System – Users – User Groups and edit the “Administrators” group.
Make sure all checkboxes under “Access Permission” and “Modify Permission” are enabled.
9. In admin, go to: System – Settings – Edit.
Update any empty fields and click “Save”.
Even if you don’t see new fields – still click “Save” so that the database is updated.
10. Enable modifiers and modules that may have been disabled during the update.
