Canonical URL for products

OpenCart automatically generates canonical links, but the standard logic is not always suitable for all products and variations. This free module allows to manually manage canonical for each product, including multilingual versions.


Advantages:

• Manual control: set any link as canonical for the product.
• Fix OpenCart restrictions: prevents duplicate pages and allows you to set up SEO correctly.
• Multilingual support: you can set a different canonical for each language version of the product.
• Storing in a tableproduct_description: allows you to use different import modules to fill canonical without additional configuration.
• Ideal for variations and product groups: suitable for products with different colors, sizes or packaging.

Installation instructions:

• Install the archive art_custom_canonical.ocmod via the standard add-on manager;
• Update OCMOD cache;
• Then go to Catalog->Products;
• The "Canonical" fields will appear in product editing;
