Introduction

Attribute&pro module is an extension for working with attributes (in Russian versions - characteristics) of products in online stores running on the OpenCart platform. Attribute&pro is an improved version of Attribute&co.

Module mission
The mission of the module is as follows:

• Make it easier to work with attributes and their values;
• Display the structure more clearlyattributes;
• Apply modern editing technologies;
• Replace routine manual labor with automated operations and move to batch processing of changes;
• Expand the structure of attributes and their values for further use on the front end.

Basic concept
The main idea is to compile a set of attributes that are identical for a certain product category and link this set to the category. It is assumed that products of the same category have approximately the same set of attributes. Since the structure of categories and subcategories in OpenCart is well developed, we chose to link specifically to the category, and not to the manufacturer orother parameters.
Logical structure of the connection between attributes and categories:

Product category

          └── Value (list of values) of attribute

The module also provides:

• representation of the structure of attributes and their values in the form of a tree;
• creation of additional data for each attribute, its value or default value;
• management of this data as an integral part of each attribute, its value or default value.
